My name is Mark Francis and I have been an actor for over 25 years appearing in such films as Attraction Man, Church Pew Secrets, 115 Grains, Judas & the Black Messiah, Babylon, Killers of the Flower Moon, Bed of Nails, The Mutilator 2, Friday the 13th Blood Loss, Bikers vs. Werewolves, A Vampire's Kiss, Clown Motel 3 and many more. I have played everything from background roles to supporting and lead roles and have served as First Assistant Director, Co-Producer and Executive Producer on films. It was my dream to start my own independent film production company and in 2023 we launched "Scared to Death Films". I have an exceptionally talented group of actors and co-producers and our goal is to produce high quality films with a focus on great stories and great performances. SERIOUSLY scary films for serious horror fans. No silly horror comedies or campy, ridiculous movies. I am a multi-award winning horror director, producer, actor and author and we are re-inventing the modern independent horror film by getting rid of the giggle and bringing back the scream!
Our first release "A Vampire's Kiss" has won over 350 awards at horror conventions and film festivals worldwide since its release in May of 2024. A 28 minute film short, we were recently certified as having won more awards than any other "horror short" in film history! Not too bad for a new company's first release! Many of you may have met me or seen one of our booths set up at one of the horror conventions around the country, we do about 6-8 a year!
Now comes our first feature length film "Fear the Fouke Monster". Based on the violent, hairy swamp monster that has terrorized the small Southern town of Fouke, Arkansas for many decades and was the subject of the 1972 cult classic "The Legend of Boggy Creek". Help us make the most terrifying Bigfoot movie ever made! This ain't no "Harry & the Hendersons". This is a bloody, gory film with a very unique storyline with lots of old school suspense. No small town sheriff in the beige uniform and hat, no small town corner gas station with the toothless guy behind the counter. None of the silly cliches and tropes. This is a horror movie and our goal is to make the most terrifying Bigfoot movie ever made! And in typical Mark Francis fashion, we kill women, children and pets in this film. This ain't no "gentle giant of the forest". We have a few celebrity guest stars appearing the film that will be announced soon.
We have many different types of perks available, please look them over see if something might appeal to you where you can help fund our project. There are many ways you can help out, even if you are not an actor you can still earn true movie industry credits on the IMDB (Internet Movie Database) as a producer by helping fund the project. If you're unable to donate to the project right now, you can still help us by spreading the word to your friends and on your social media accounts.
Half of the movie has already been shot and pre-editing has begun. Filming will commence again in late March 2025 here in South Florida near the Everglades. The costs of making a good film can be substantial: paying your actors, lodging, meals, pre-production, costumes, editing, music licensing and sound design, advertising and festival submission fees. A lot goes into it. Here at Scared to Death Films we are a totally self-contained film production company with professional sound and lighting gear, pro editing software and three Black Magic Pro cinema cameras. Our release goal is the fall of 2025.
Here at Scared to Death Films we want to do something a little bit different than the next independent horror filmmaker. It seems so many modern releases lack good story telling and seem to have the same cliches over and over. I've written 13 books and am an award-winning horror author: let's get rid of the giggle and bring back the scream!
